Romans 4:22-25
Prayer of Grace
We can have the promise of Abraham in our own lives! As shown in the last four verses of Romans 4.
'And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offenses, and was raised again for our justification.' Romans 4:22-25
What was imputed to him was God's righteousness. Abraham believed and it was credited to him for righteousness. He was declared righteous and being made righteous he was justified before God.
Take those last three verses of Romans 4 and pray the way you understand it:
Prayer of Grace based on Romans 4:22-25: Dear Father in Heaven, may the righteousness of God be imputed to me through my faith on him who raised Jesus from the dead. In the name of him who was delivered for our offenses and raised again for our justification.
The word of God must be in you for this prayer to be effective. You don't need to take as long as I have if you can overcome your prejudice against the bible. You've got to know the bible is the word of God to take authority in it. Study the Gospels and the New Testament; and know that from Acts on is the beginnings of the New Covenant in Christ. Recognize the significance of the letters of Paul. It is there that the promise of the Holy Ghost is fulfilled, and it is in the letters that understanding of grace comes.
His word dwells in you, but you've got to put it in. Because faith comes by hearing the word of God read the scripture aloud or listen to it and then pray it in.
Offer this particular prayer of faith and thereafter know that your prayer like leaven is rising. It has been conceived in your heart, now it needs a little time to bake, but pray as if it were yours, giving thanks for it. Your prayer is in the oven and even before you taste it you can smell the savory sweetness of it. There is nothing wrong with offering a prayer of thanks for what is in the oven. And soon thereafter it will come to you.
