The Seed  Part 3

Luke 8: 5-15  Matthew 13: 1-23

Back to the parable of Luke 8:7. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. The interpretation is found in verse 14: And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.. Many never embrace the bible because it is choked out of them by the cares of daily life, and is choked out by the riches and pleasures of this life. Neither bring forth fruit.

Verse 8 reads: And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And verse 15 is the interpretation: But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

How could Jesus expect you to keep his word if he didn’t preserve it? You know God has done the work of creation. Could he not do the work of preservation?

David in Psalm 12:6-7 says, 'The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation forever. Psalm 12:6-7.
